Tribut für ""Poor Virginia" - Tribute to "Poor Virginia"

This is a tribute to an all time favorite of mine, "Poor Virginia" by "Screamteddy".

I absolutely love this dress and wanted to felt one myself. I tried out a technique called "cobweb felting", where you create a very thin layer of felt with holes. Succeeded at the very first try :-)

I loved how Screamteddy used the clumsy stitches on her dress. I have a life-long aversion against needle and thread, probably stemming from my early schooldays where my needlework teacher constantly critized my inapt attempts at sewing and crochet working. It was so liberating to stitch and sew like crazy on this dress :-)

I adorned the whole thing with a few buttons, a textile rose, a safety pin, Shrinky Dink clock and an old pocket-watch. Oh, and an industrially felted collar.

The size of the whole dressmaker´s form is 41 cm. It looked very ugly when I bought it.  I tore the lining away and added a layer of old paper, which looks much better :-)

Tick-Tack und Giftmischerei - Tic Toc and Poison Mixing

I currently indulge in my passion for old things, and bought a beautiful collection of old pocket watches and clock faces.

I made a collage sheet from the individual clock faces:

As usual, you can buy the sheet in my Dawanda shop!

I still love old labels from medicine and apothecary bottles. A while ago, I designed my own label for a project of mine, but getting the real thing is also nice!

I bought a wonderful collection of old and antique German medicine/apothecary labels. It seems they were created around the 20s, maybe 30s, except for the beautiful cod-liver oil label in victorian style and the lovely "Eau de Cologne" label, which seem older. Next to Chilblain ointment, Glycerine and raspberry juice you find  Dr. Hauck´s stomach drops, lemon-essence and "Best Silesian Fennel-Honey".

Great for Halloween projects (although Halloween is just over, but maybe for next year?), doll houses, Steampunk, Larp, Scrapbooking, Mixed Media and Altered Art projects.

As a little "Thank you" for reading a free stock image of the clock faces, a bit pimped-up by textures from Jerry Jones and Kim Klassen, as  a texture for digital projects, wallpaper or whatever :-).
